Maharashtra emerged as biggest economy  
Maharashtra has emerged as the biggest economy within Indian states as disclosed in a latest report released during December 2015 by credit rating agency Brickwork Ratings.
This report rated Maharashtra as the biggest economy within India at Rs 16.87 lakh crore in terms of gross state domestic product (GSDP). It is followed by Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

Justice T S Thakur sworn in as 43rd CJI
Justice Tirath Singh Thakur sworn in as 43rd Chief Justice of India by President Pranab Mukherjee in Rashtrapati Bhavan. The senior-most judge of the apex court, 63-year old Justice Thakur took over from incumbent Justice H L Dattu.

PM announced 1000 cr relief for Tamil Nadu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a relief package of Rs 1000 cr for the flood-hit Tamil Nadu, this will be over and above Rs.940 crore given by the Centre earlier. As heavy rains continue to lash Chennai, several parts of the city have come to a standstill.

3 December: International Day of Persons with Disabilities
International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed across the world on 3 December 2015 with the theme Inclusion matters: access and empowerment for people of all abilities. United Nations estimates say that about one billion people are living with disabilities across the world. They face barriers of inclusion in many key aspects of society.

Satya Nadella to visit T-Hub in Hyderabad
Software giant Microsoft's chief executive officer Satya Nadella may visit T-Hub in Hyderabad, the technological incubation centre set up by the Telangana government, on December 28, state IT Minister K T Rama Rao said on Thursday. Rao, however, was not sure if Nadella would be meeting Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during his visit, which is said to be private.

Banks in talks with temple trusts to push gold scheme
A number of state-owned banks are in talks with some of the country's largest and richest temple trusts, including those managing Sabarimala, Sree Padmanabhaswamy, Tirumala Tirupati, Guruvayur, and Puri Jagannath, among others, to part with some of their massive reserves of idle gold for gold monetisation scheme (GMS).

Loading of enriched uranium resumes in Kudankulam plant
Following successful completion of five-month-long maintenance, loading of enriched uranium fuel rods in the first reactor of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project resumed. The reactor was shut down for mandatory annual outage on June 24 last, as per schedule.
